I'm so pleased to announce a new textiles collection available at my online shop Pikku-Kota!

Finnish brand 1kertaa2 has a beautiful selection of high quality knitted textiles made in Finland and designed by duo Piia Kalliomäki and Marika Lehti. All 1kertaa2 products are made of 100% wool and have a soft luxurious feel. They are easy to take care of and have a modern, sophisticated look.

Getting Organised

My previous post sparked me to get organised around our home. I don't know what it is, but no matter how much tidying up I do there are always fabrics, craft items and props scattered here and there. I can't even blame my husband for the mess, since I'm the only one pottering around at home during the day. I've mentioned my Normann Copenhagen shelf system so many times before, but it really is a life savior of some sort. It has plenty of space for storage, all within easy reach, which is exactly what I need. 

I use these woven pine baskets from my online store a lot at home. They are great for storage, but also make cute picnic baskets for all those summer outings! 

Finally, these large rattan hooks (also available from my online store) are just ideal for hanging accessories in the hallway (I've featured the wooden ladder here before) or in the bathroom. They are a perfect size for towels, hats and whatever else I might have lying around.

Study Revamp

 

I'm always moving things around in our home, much to my husband's frustration. I've now taken down my desk in our large study room (his desk is still there) and replaced it with this Normann Copenhagen shelf unit I bought a couple of months ago. After opening my online shop, I needed room for packaging material and some of the stock (most of the stock is still stacked away in cupboards). I also love the visual inspiration open shelves provide; they work much like a mood board for me and I'm always changing things according to whatever inspires me at the moment.

I love the look of pure white candles in a glass jar. I know it's very simple and nothing extraordinary, but to me it's as pretty as any design object. Wooden bread boards and wooden cups are also available on the store.
