Bangkok Sidewalk, Kirribilli

I don't know why I don't visit Kirribilli more often: it has such a lovely small town atmosphere and it's buzzing with nice restaurants, delis and cafes! On the night of the chocolate tasting, my friend and I decided to have a light bite to eat before indulging all that chocolate (I think we were worried we would get hungry...FAIL). I had found out about the Bangkok Sidewalk on my last visit to Papaya Thai in Cremorne and thought it would be nice to see what this place was like.

Coconut water was too sweet for my taste, but diluted with water it was perfectly refreshing.

Although decided to keep it light we ordered Kai Satay as an entrée. The marinated chicken was tender and juicy and the peanut sauce was delicious. I didn't care if it seemed wrong to serve these with white bread because it was perfect for soaking the last bits of the yummy sauce with.

This is light: Tom Yum Koong has prawns and oyster mushrooms in a spicy broth. I am not good with chilli and even though I was told this wasn't exactly super spicy, it was a tad too much for my palate. I had to seek refuge from my refreshing coconut water...

Tom Kha Kai has chicken and oyster mushrooms in mild coconut broth with cherry tomatoes and galangal. This was more for my liking as the broth was not nearly as spicy as the other one. The soup was lovely and warming on a cold winter evening.

I could definitely go back because this tiny eatery has a bit more character than your average Thai restaurant and I'll definitely have to go back to Kirribilli!
