Jugemu/Shimbashi, Neutral Bay

Jugemu/Shimbashi is possibly one of my favourite Japanese restaurants in Sydney, and we've been here so many times and never has it been disappointing. This restaurant has two different specialties and therefore two different "sides": Jugemu is specialised in Japanese savoury pancakes or okonomiyaki and Shimbashi's pride lies in their hand made soba noodles, made by hand twice a day. I took a picture of the chef Masahiko Tojo a few months ago while he was working on his famous noodles.

This time we had a birthday dinner at the private room with superb food, excellent service and fun company. There is always something new on the menu and you can order "across" the sides enjoying everything this place has to offer.
